Hey, crafty friends! Today, I'm thrilled to share a step-by-step guide on creating your own bungeoji hat – a chic bucket hat that can be tied with a charming ribbon string. This versatile accessory is not only practical but also adds a stylish touch to a variety of outfits.
Let's dive into the crafting process:
1. Creating the Brim:
- Fold the outer material in half and cut with a 1cm seam allowance.
- Fold the adhesive core in half and cut it (seam allowance x).
- Attach the adhesive backing to the inside of the outer fabric.
- Prepare the lining with the same fabric as the outer material.
- Place the outer fabric with the adhesive backing facing the outer side of the lining.
- Sew with a 1cm seam allowance.
- Cut to fit the shape of the outer material.
- Turn it over and iron it.
- Top stitch the edges.
2. Making the Bucket Hat Top:
- Prepare one piece of outer material and one piece of lining with a 1cm seam allowance.
- Cut 5 pieces each for the outer fabric and lining with a 1cm seam allowance.
- Attach 2 pieces to both sides of the center piece.
- Sew with a 1cm seam allowance.
- Cut the seam allowance at the corner diagonally and sew the remaining piece.
- Connect the three tower pieces.
- Place the outside facing each other and sew.
- The top of the outer fabric is completed.
- Sew the lining in the same way to complete the lining top.
3. Assembling the Hat:
- Connect the brim and top of the bucket hat.
- Place the outside facing each other, fix and sew.
- Attach a string to the back of the top (string length: 50cm).
- Connect the outer fabric and lining.
- Use scissors for the curve at the back.
- Tie a ribbon according to the size of your head.
